Brief history of the Centre

The KWASU CCD was established in 2010.  Mr David John Hannis, an experienced Canadian community development expert and Social Worker from McEwan University, Canada was the pioneer Director who headed the Centre between 2010 and 2012. He successfully laid the foundation for the first Centre for Community Development in a Nigerian university. He remained the Head of the Centre till 12th December, 2012 when he had to return to Canada.

On 12th December 2012, a Nigerian and indeed, an indigene of Kwara, Mr Lawal Olalekan Olohungbebe was appointed Assistant Director and Acting Director of the Centre. He remained the acting director till February 15 2018 when Prof. Oladimeji Adebayo was appointed substantive Director.
