The center is adequately equipped to meet the health care needs of both the staff, students and visitors to the university and the community at large.
MEDICAL CONSULTATION: The University Health Service is a primary health care center. Referrals for specialist attention is to the following hospitals. University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Oke-Oyi, Sobi specialist Hospital, Alagbado, Nakowa Hospital sango and Kosemani Hospital Emir’s road Ilorin. Two Ambulances serve to transport referred cases. Minor surgical operations; Suturing lacerations, incision and drainages, wound management are also carried out when required in the health services.
NURSING UNIT: This unit is responsible for giving of injections, wound management and monitoring of inpatients.
MEDICAL LABORATORY SERVICES: The university Health service laboratory unit has facilities for essential diagnostic tests such as blood grouping, genotype, hepatitis test, lentiviral screening, blood sugar assessment, malaria parasite detection, widal test and PCV with hemoglobin testing and others.
MEDICAL RECORDS/HEALTH INFORMATION UNIT: This unit is responsible for records keeping, data collection and analysis for proper health planning and implementation in the University Health Service.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH UNIT: This unit carries out environmental health inspections and give recommendations on maintaining a hazard – free university environment. Basically for preventive health care.
ADMINISTRATIVE/SECRETARIAL UNIT: Carries out the administrative duties in the health services.
PHARMACY UNIT: This dispenses essential drugs prescribed and stocks majority of these drugs. Staff members pay for drugs procured while drugs are free for students. It also audits the drug use of the clinic.
HEALTH ATTENDANTS UNIT: They are saddled with the responsibility of cleaning the hospital and its environs.
