Dr. Killian C. Ikwuakor is the Director, Centre for Sponsored Projects (CSP) and Executive Secretary of University Research Council. He is also a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Geology and Mineral Sciences. He has over 36 years international experience as a teacher, entrepreneur, researcher, consultant, and oil and gas explorationist. He has worked in the E&P department of multinational oil and gas companies, and consulted for independents, governments, national oil companies, and service companies. He has extensive experience in finance, business development, project management, and research-funding procurement, procedures and strategies. Dr. Ikwuakor is an expert petrophysicist and multidisciplinary geoscientist in the areas of oil and gas exploration and development, R&D, modeling and analysis; technology skills transfer, and integration of geological, geophysical and petrophysical characteristics of conventional and unconventional oil and gas reservoirs. His research interests include investigation of shale gas potential in Nigeria’s inland sedimentary basins, interaction between petrophysics and rock physics, and development of predictive petrophysical models for quantitative characterization of oil and gas reservoirs. Prior to joining Kwara State University in January 2012, Dr. Ikwuakor was the Founder/CEO and Director of Research at IEC, incorporated, a Denver, Colorado-based private research and consulting firm, focused in multi-component characterization of oil and gas reservoirs. He is a member of several professional organizations, has published widely and presented technical papers before professional Institutions.
