Chairman, Think Tank of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Dr. Henry Sawyerr, has been appointed into the Federal Board of Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria (EHORECON).
This was communicated to him via a letter from the Federal Ministry of Environment, dated 9th March, 2018.
By the appointment, Sawyerr is representing the Environmental Health Training Institutions on the Board as member of the Council.
Announcing this in an email to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor AbdulRasheed Na’Allah, he thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the University for giving him “the opportunity to make meaningful contribution to the growth and development of Allied Health training in Nigeria and most particularly the Environmental Health profession.”
He remarked that the opportunity given has placed KWASU at the fore front of institutions in Africa, in the development of Allied Health Science.
On his part, the University’s helmsman congratulated Sawyerr on the appointment, describing it as a superb achievement.
“The University is very proud of Dr. Henry Sawyerr's continued contribution to the growth and development in many positions, especially as a faculty, chairman of KWASU Think Tank and as a researcher and environmental scientist.
The impact that the University has made in our community in the area of environmental health has placed it as a top-notch University,” he enthused.
Dr. Henry Sawyerr is the Acting Dean, School of Allied Health and Environmental Science (SAHES) and Head, Department of Environmental Health Science (EHS), College of Pure and Applied Sciences, KWASU.
He is also the Director, Centre for Ecological and Environmental Research, Management and Studies (CEERMS) of the Institution.
