KWASU VC wins Kwara State Most Outstanding Administrator of the Year Award

In recognition of his outstanding leadership in education in Nigeria, the Vice-Chancellor, Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Professor AbdulRasheed Na’Allah, has been conferred with “Kwara State Most Outstanding Administrator of the Year Award” by Icon and Legend Magazine.

Na’Allah was honoured alongside the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ali Ahmad, and Legal Luminary, Mallam Yusuf Ali, SAN.

Rt. Hon. Ahmad was conferred with “Kwara State Most Outstanding Jurist in Politics and Lawmaker of the Year” Award, while Mallam Ali was honoured with “Kwara State Most Outstanding Jurist of the Year” Award.

Held at Hall B of the famous Kwara Hotel, Ilorin, the event was chaired by the Chairman, Advisory Board of the magazine, Professor Abiodun Amuda-Kannike, SAN.

Addressing the gathering, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, Barrister Omosehin Akinduro, remarked that the honorees were selected on merit after wide consultation and rigorous screening exercise.

Akinduro further stated that the award winners have contributed significantly to national development in their respective careers, and that the awards would serve as catalysts for them to render more services to humanity and for the youth to learn from them.

Describing Professor Na’Allah as a scholar and administrator par excellence, he said the Vice-Chancellor has demonstrated visionary leadership qualities which have helped to position KWASU among the best universities in the country.

Presenting the award to the KWASU’s helmsman, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Sakah Mahmud, the Chairman, Advisory Board of the magazine reiterated that the three honorees were selected on merit and urged them not to rest on their oars.

Professor Amuda-Kannike is also the Provost, College of Law, KWASU. In his acceptance speech, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the organisers for considering him worthy of such honour and pledged to continue to render selfless service for a better Nigeria.

Specifically, his representative extolled his virtues as a remarkable leader worthy of emulation.

The award ceremony also had in attendance other honorees, including the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, and the representative of Mallam Ali, Mr. Kehinde Kolawole Eleja, SAN.

Also present were Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Sulaiman Jamiu; Director, Academic Planning and Institutional Research, Professor Abdulrauf Ambali; Acting Registrar, Mr. Mohammed Shuaib; University Library Coordinator, Dr. Florence Ajani, and a host of others from KWASU.

From University of Ilorin was Professor Wahab Egbewole, SAN as well as friends, admirers, and well-wishers of the honorees, among others.
