About Us


The Bachelor of Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management is a 4- year degree programme designed to prepare the students with the necessary pre-requisite education and leadership dexterity aimed at equipping them to face tomorrow's challenges within the Tourism and Hospitality environment. Secondly, to produce graduates who are expected to be pace-setters in up-grading and redefining Tourism and Hospitality Industry Management locally and globally.


Students' learning is enhanced by practical components which will expose them to latest technology and state of the art facilities and development in Tourism and Hospitality Management. The programme also strives to facilitate students learning through movements away from classroom teaching to benefit through different excursions, field trips and Laboratory demonstrations. This requires students' financial contribution regarding provision of clothing (uniforms for practical demonstrations) and basic hand equipment (hand tools, camping gears etc) as well as INTERNATIONAL TOURS.


Graduates of the programme will be expected to acquire the following competences and skills.

  1- Conceptual management and entrepreneurial skills.

  2- Relevant practical and analytical competence to enable them manage sustainable tourism and hospitality Industry.

  3- Ability to function in advisory capacity to government and private agencies in areas related to Tourism and Hospitality Industry and Management.

  4- Ability to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate appropriate tourism and hospitality programmes for the benefits of host communities.

  5- Leadership qualities that will enable them take on leadership roles in public and private establishments related to tourism and hospitality management.

  6- Acquiring relevant communication skills and ability to present research field reports with convincing arguments clearly either in writing or orally.

  7- To be equipped with Information Technology (IT) Skill required for global communication.

  8- Participatory approach to conservation and utilization of renewable natural resource with a view to enhancing rural development.
