KWASU’s Professor Isiaka Zubair Aliagan, FANA, is to be honoured at the June edition of the ANA Mbari Series as the headliner/celebrant of the event.
The Mbari Series is an Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA, initiative that facilitates the gathering of intellectuals, writers, and thought leaders for discussions.
ANA, in a letter signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Mbari Series Committee, Professor Kyuka Lilymjok and Ngozi Alutulu-Ebulum respectively, stated that the special edition, to hold on June 27, 2026, at the ANA National Secretariat, Manman Vatsa Writers Village, Abuja, was organised in honour of Professor Aliagan’s 60th birthday and in recognition of his contributions to literature, scholarship, and cultural discourse.
It added that the edition themed “Northern Literature: Visibility, Challenges and Prospects” would foreground the rich literary traditions, voices, and creative contributions emerging from Northern Nigeria.
It would be recalled that Professor Isiaka Zubair Aliagan, the Dean of KWASU’s Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, a versatile playwright, poet, children’s fiction writer, anthologist, and short story writer turned 60 on May 4, 2026.
His literary works include Cadence (Poetry) published in 1997, Emissary of Joy (Poetry) published in 1999, The Scars of the Moon (Short Story Collection) in 2000, Oba Mama (Play) in 2003 and Echoes and Voices from the Midland (Edited Anthology of Kwara ANA) published in 2003.
Others are Akeju, the Pampered Boy published in (2003), Stories from the Quran (Co-authored) and published in 2003, Olubu (Play) in 2010, Symphony of Harmony (Lead Editor, Anthology of Kwara ANA) in 2011, Ogu Umunwanye: Women’s War (Play) in 2014, An Old Man and his Son (Children fiction) in 2017, A Patient Fisherman (Children fiction) 2017, and Rusting Time (Play) published in 2024.
