I wish to welcome the staff, students, and the general public to the website of the Admissions Office. I warmly welcome you on board as you navigate through to get to know the functions and workings of the office.

Brief History

The admission office was established in 2010 immediately after the establishment of Kwara State University in 2009 following the need to admit students into various programmes of the University.

Mission and Vision

The Admission Office strives to locate, attract, and admit qualified students who desire quality university education. Our mission is to train students to become global citizens capable of competing favourably anywhere in the world.

Programmes / Activities

Admission is conducted yearly for candidates into the various programmes of the University. Following the UTME examination conducted by JAMB, the Admission Office begins the admission process for the year.

The University sets the institutional cut-off mark and communicates the same to JAMB. Programme cut-off marks are then approved by the Admissions Committee and the Senate.

Post-UTME screening advertisement is made, and admission recommendations commence immediately after the registration deadline. Successful candidates pay acceptance fees and are updated on JAMB CAPS to enable them accept their admission and print their admission letters.

Achievements / Milestones

The University has consistently achieved seamless admission processes, leading to yearly increases in admission quota approved by the NUC. From an initial 500 quota, KWASU now proudly admits over 10,548 students yearly, with expectations of further expansion as new programmes are accredited.
