Building a rewarding career through continuous learning, discipline, adaptability, and the willingness to seize opportunities was the key message delivered to final-year students of Kwara State University during a Career Talk Show organised by the Alumni Relations Office on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Moshood Mahmud Jimba, urged students to begin preparing for life after graduation. He highlighted the importance of developing entrepreneurial and professional skills and the mindset needed to excel in their chosen professions.
The Director of the Alumni Relations Office, Mr. Sanni AbdulRazaq explained that the programme, themed “Unveiling the Path for a Credible Career Opportunity,” was designed specifically for final-year students.
He emphasized that successful careers are built on competence, integrity, skills, and value creation, encouraging students not to delay career planning until after graduation.
The guest speaker, Mrs. Tosin Olaniyi, an alumnus of KWASU and a Human Capital Strategist, Employability Expert, and Business Strategist, advised students to position themselves for success by bridging skills gaps, building meaningful professional relationships, and striving for academic excellence.
