Mission

To be the fulcrum of a knowledge‑driven society, building competencies through creativity and cutting‑edge technology and to grow law students who will promote and preserve the independence of legal education in Nigeria.

Goals

Stimulate excellent research and writing skills based on a stronger foundation and a better understanding of the role of law in a contemporary context.

Brief History

KWASU Senate and Council approved the establishment of the Faculty of Law in 2018. The Faculty took off with three programmes: Business & Private Law, Jurisprudence & Public Law, and Islamic Law. Departments include Business & Private Law and Jurisprudence & Public Law, staffed by experienced academics and visiting professors.

Vision

To be the foremost institution expanding the frontiers of knowledge and innovation, producing law graduates of distinction committed to lifelong learning, integrity and professionalism—capable of being responsible leaders in our community.

Objectives

  • Teach Law as it exists at any given time with a comparative approach, mindful of multiple systems of law in operation.
  • Enable students to assume broader responsibilities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Encourage the production of legal experts and researchers equipped with relevant ICT knowledge and skills.
  • Provide appreciation of the relevance of a multidisciplinary approach to solving complex life problems and the role of law therein.
