Brief History

The General Studies course of Kwara State University started during the 2009/2010 Academic Session. Initially, courses were domiciled in the various departments. Starting with GNS 101 and GNS 103 in 2009/2010, the Unit has grown to house sixteen (16) courses in the 2022/2023 session.

Mission & Vision

The Unit strives to locate, attract, and admit qualified students who desire quality university education. Our mission is to train students to become global citizens capable of competing favourably anywhere in the world.

Achievements

Teaching of students online through virtual learning on LMS and conducting examinations at two CBT centres:

1. E-Library CBT Centre
2. CDEE CBT Centre

Programmes / Activities

1. Coordinate GNS courses domiciled in various departments.
2. Conduct and monitor GNS examinations at CBT centres.
3. Moderate GNS results through the GNS Board.
4. Attend to student issues and academic inquiries related to GNS.
