Brief History of the Unit
The human resources unit is one of the 3 divisions in the Registry Department of the University. It is headed by a Deputy Registrar who is responsible to the Registrar for the day-to-day administration of the Division. The Division is divided into the following units:

  1. Senior staff unit
  2. Junior staff unit
  3. Staff Training and Development unit
  4. Pension unit
    The Division is responsible for all staff matters including staff appointments, promotion, discipline, and other staff matters.

Mission/Vision/Goals
The vision of the Human Resources Division is to provide an effective and efficient service delivery.

Activities
The Human Resources Division carries out several activities including the following:

  1. Processing of staff applications for appointment and providing secretarial support service for the University interview panel for appointment of staff
  2. Processing of the Faculty Promotion Committee’s report for onward transmission to the Appointments and Promotions Committee
  3. Processing of Staff Disciplinary cases to Staff Disciplinary Committee.
  4. Processing of staff applications for annual leave, study leave, sick leave, sabbatical leave, and other related staff entitlements.
  5. Provides other Staff related services.
