KWASU Appoints Prof. Olusola James as Dean of Pure & Applied Sciences

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Alade Jimoh has approved the appointment of Professor Olusola Oladele James as the Dean of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences with effect from November 8, 2025.
The Registrar in a letter of notification, dated October 15, 2025, stated that the appointment was for 2 years.
Professor James holds a Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad (erstwhile ISM Dhanbad), India in 2013. He joined the service of Kwara State University as a Senior Lecturer in 2014 from the Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (CIMFR), a subsidiary of Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India where he was a Senior Research Fellow.
He is an Alexander Humboldt Foundation Fellow and a TWAS-DFG Visiting Fellow. He received the TWAS-CSIR Postgraduate Fellowship Award in 2008, the TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visit Award in 2014, and the Georg Forster Postdoctoral Research Fellowship – Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung in 2015.
Professor Olusola Oladele James is Kwara State University’s 19th Inaugural Lecturer and holds membership of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and the American Chemical Society (ACS).
