KWASU FELICITATES EMERITUS PROFESSORS AKANJI, OLOYEDE, & OBAFEMI
The Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has received the news of the appointment of Professor Musbau Adewumi Akanji FAS as Emeritus Professor by the Senate of the University of Ilorin with great pleasure and excitement.
Professor Jimoh noted that the honour was very well deserved going by Professor Akanji’s contributions to university education across the nation.
The KWASU Vice-Chancellor added that since joining the institution on his retirement, Emeritus Professor Musbau Akanji has played pivotal roles in the advancement of KWASU some of which include co-chairing the strategic plan writing exercise, chairing the University Ceremonials Committee, and serving as the Director of the institution’s Strategic Plan Unit, driving the attainment of the strategic plan document.
The KWASU Vice-Chancellor equally felicitated with Emeritus Professors Is’haq Olanrewaju Oloyede FNAL and Olu Obafemi FNAL on their appointments by the Senate of the University of Ilorin.
Professor Jimoh described them as committed educationists who have continued to contribute to national development in their various roles as Registrar of JAMB and board chair of KU8+, and as the Pro-Chancellor of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, respectively.
The Vice-Chancellor identified that Emeritus Professor Oloyede was a man who has had a great impact on him as an individual, teaching and mentoring him and many others to success.
“I, on behalf of the Kwara State University Community, heartily congratulate the Emeritus Professors and wish them greater successes with which to add value to society,” he stated.
