KWASU holds 16th Matriculation Ceremony
13,602 new students have been formally admitted into Kwara State University (KWASU) for the 2024/2025 session during the 16th Matriculation Ceremony, which was held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Mini Convocation Arena.
In his matriculation address to the student, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, noted that the 16th Matriculation Ceremony marked another milestone in the University’s history as the ceremony included pioneer students of the ten programs recently approved for the institution by the National Universities Commission, NUC.
He congratulated the matriculants for successfully taking their places in the institution from among the twenty-five thousand eight hundred and forty-six (25,846) candidates that sought admission into the various academic programs of the University, adding that KWASU has become a university of choice for admission-seekers due to the high-quality human and physical resources.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence in the university’s ability to provide excellent education capable of transforming students into global citizens with relevant ability, noting that “Kwara State University has a long-standing tradition of producing innovative leaders who positively impact society.”
Professor Jimoh also urged the students to be law-abiding and avoid all acts of indiscipline, emphasising that KWASU has zero tolerance for actions that violate the rules and regulations, “The university will promptly impose sanctions on any student whose actions do not align with the institution’s values and expectations,” he stressed.
The highpoint of the ceremony was the oath-taking by the matriculants and their formal induction into the institution.
