KWASU Strengthens Plans to Globalize Departmental and Faculty Journals
Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has put in place strategic measures to ensure that journals hosted by its various departments and faculties attain global recognition and competitiveness.
This was disclosed by the Director, Centre for Strategic Planning, Emeritus Professor Musbau Akanji, during the opening ceremony of a three-day workshop organised for members of the KWASU Journal Editorial Board on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Digital Economy Hub of the University.
Professor Akanji stated that part of the University’s strategy to globalise its journals is to ensure that all publications domiciled within KWASU are duly registered and managed in accordance with international best practices.
He described the workshop as a laudable initiative aimed at producing more competent and effective managers and editors of academic journals.
In his remarks, the convener of the workshop and Director, Centre for Research and Development, Professor Abdulkabir Hussain Solihu explained that the training was carefully designed to equip journal editors with the requisite knowledge and skills in e-publishing and advanced copy-editing techniques.
Speaking further on KWASU’s commitment to advancing the frontiers of academic communication, Professor Solihu noted that the University’s website currently hosts ten (10) academic journals. These are:

Professor Solihu added that through such initiatives, KWASU continues to strengthen its reputation as a forward-looking institution committed to excellence in academic publishing and research dissemination.
