Leadership Conference for Students
The Office of Students Leadership and Policy Engagement, Kwara State University collaboration with the Aderonke Foundation, held a Leadership Conference and Training Summit for students on June 24, 2026. The summit was aimed at equipping students with the knowledge, values, and skills required for effective leadership and national development.
Declaring the conference open, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, described leadership as a critical driver of sustainable development and urged students to embrace core leadership values of integrity, discipline, responsibility, humility, and service.
In her keynote presentation titled “Becoming a Good Leader: An Introduction to Good Leadership,” the convener of the summit, Dr. Aderonke Kujore stressed that effective leadership requires a clear vision and the ability to achieve measurable results. She outlined key leadership principles and charged participants to strengthen their leadership skills to positively impact their communities.
Earlier in his welcome address, the host and co-convener of the conference, the Coordinator of the Students Leadership and Policy Engagement Unit, Mr. Aliyu Uthman Abdulkadir explained that the conference was tailored to bring emerging leaders together with accomplished resource persons to deliver hands-on training on the ethics and importance of responsible leadership.
Mr. Abdulkadir added that 190 students registered to participate in the conference, which featured presentations by resource persons on leadership, governance, integrity, and personal development.
