The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Alade Jimoh, has appointed Mr Aliyu Uthman Abdulkadir as the Coordinator, Student Leadership and Policy Engagement Unit, under the Vice-Chancellor’s office.

The letter conveying the notice of appointment was signed by the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee, and dated June 19, 2025.

Aliyu Uthman Abdulkadir, popularly known as Phodeo, is a distinguished academic and administrator with a rich background in education and leadership. He attended Ilorin Comprehensive High School; Kwara State College of Education, Oro (NCE); and Kwara State University (B.A. & M.A.).

Aliyu has a proven track record of leadership, having served as the NANS Chairman for Kwara State (2017) and President of the KWASU Alumni Association (2019-2024).

He joined the Department of English and Linguistics at KWASU as a lecturer in 2019.

In addition to his academic roles, Aliyu has served the University in different capacities, among which is Convocation Representative on the current Governing Council.

Phodeo’s appointment as Coordinator, Student Leadership and Policy Engagements under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor is in recognition of his commitment to the University.
