TETFund Visits Site of KWASU’s ICT Experience Centre
The Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, KWASU, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Alade Jimoh, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, received a team from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
The team was on a site visit to assess the state of work at the ICT Experience Center, a landmark project facilitated by the Office of the First Lady of Nigeria and TETFund.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed his appreciation for the support of TETFund in enhancing infrastructure at the University, emphasizing that when completed, the ICT centre would play a key role in advancing digital learning and innovation for both staff and students.
Professor Jimoh lauded TETFund for the constant monitoring, assuring them of KWASU’s readiness to play its part in the realisation of a befitting ICT Experience Centre.
The TETFund team, which was led by an Assistant Director (ICT), Alhaji Salihu Mohammed, along with
the Chief Procurment officer, Umar Ali, and a Senior Engineer, Adam Ibrahim Khalil emphasised the need for constant monitoring of the project to ensure that the facility maximally serves the interest of the institution.
Alhaji Mohammed added that their visit underscores TETFund’s commitment to ensuring accountability, quality assurance, and optimal utilisation of intervention funds in tertiary institutions in the country.
It would be recalled that Kwara State University was among the 6 pilot universities selected for the establishment of ICT Experience Centres in public tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The objective of the Experience Centres is to empower undergraduates and institutions of learning with skills, infrastructure, and mindset necessary to excel in the digital era.
