The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has appointed Dr. Kabir Mustapha of the Department of Material Science and Engineering as the Acting Director of Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme SIWES.

His letter of appointment, which was signed by the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee, is dated June 19, 2025.

Dr. Kabir Mustapha, an indigene of Offa in Offa Local Government of Kwara State, joined Kwara State University in 2012 as a lecturer in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

Over the years, he has made significant contributions to the academic and administrative development of Kwara State University, including serving as the Acting Director, Centre for International Education, a position he occupied prior to this appointment.

He has also served in other capacities, including membership of key committees and in the mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

A seasoned researcher with expertise in composite materials design and characterization, Dr. Mustapha holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from African University of Science and Technology, Abuja, Nigeria.

His appointment as the Ag. Director of SIWES marks another milestone in his commitment to ensuring impactful student engagement and skill development.
