The Chairman of the Governing Council of Kwara State University, Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali OON, has described KWASU as a supportive and progressive institution that is committed to adding value to the state.
Professor Ambali said this when he led a delegation of Council Members and Management of KWASU for a courtesy visit to the new Commissioner of Tertiary Education in Kwara State, Hajia Saa’datu Moddibo-Kawu, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025,
Professor Ambali assured the new commissioner of the readiness of the institution to continue to advance the educational, research, and community development fortunes of the state as the University has been doing.
Also speaking during the visit, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, informed the commissioner that the Osi Campus of the University had commenced academic activities, and that preparations were underway for the Ilesha-Baruba Campus to follow suit by April this year.
Hajia Saa’datu Modibbo-Kawu, in her response, expressed gratitude to the Council and Management of the institution for their congratulatory visit, pledging to utilize her position to promote the institution’s interests.
It would be recalled that Hajia Saa’datu Modibbo-Kawu was recently redeployed as commissioner to the Tertiary Education Ministry from the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.
On the entourage of the KWASU Governing Council Chairman was Professor Ibrahim Jawondo and Engineer Mariam Daudu, as well as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration)Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Olubukola Christiana Dada.
Others are the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo Wasilat Sallee; the Bursar, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Abubakar; and the University Librarian, Professor AbdulSalam Abiodun Salman.
