Overwhelmed by the Heart of my Students at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology
I was today overwhelmed by the heart of my students at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology ICT. Today Tuesday, March 11, 2025, together with my management team, the Dean of the Faculty of ICT, and the Director of the Centre for Community Development, we commissioned 2 significant projects financed by the students. The first was a borehole facilitated to solve the challenge of water and sanitation in the faculty. This project was carried out by the faculty association, the National Association of Information and Communication Students. This installation is a timely and pivotal one which would make the faculty building more conducive for both staff and students. The 2nd project was a solar installation by the Computer Students Association to power their Department. These are critical solutions that these forward thinking young men and women have provided by themselves as a way to give back to their University while still being students.
In my speech before the commissioning, I lauded their initiative, especially the provision of a borehole to their faculty, which is the 1st of its kind in the University. The provision of alternative power is also very pivotal to the conducive utilization of the facilities in the building which a number of student bodies are emulating. It is always heartwarming to see my students display, while still with us, the very mindset we want them to have after their education at KWASU.
We are the Green University for Community Development and Entrepreneurship. We are the frontline University providing solutions that make lives better for all. We are the trailblazers.
I thank every innovative KWASUite for being worthy students of this great University.
