Deputy University Librarian, Dr. Florence Ajani and Mrs Ganiyat Olayinka Bello, both of Kwara State University Library, have completed a 2-week intensive workshop in Design Thinking, Bibliotherapy, and Cinematherapy organised by Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State. The training is one of the steps by the 2 institutions, in a two-year mission, to develop a curriculum in Bibliotherapy and Cinematherapy.
The Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University KWASU, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Alade Jimoh and that of Bells University of Technology, Professor Jeremiah Oludele Ojediran and the University Librarians of both institutions, Professor Abdulsalam Abiodun Salman and Dr. Felicia Yusuf respectively are pursuing the vision of using books and films to address social concerns by making Bibliotherapy and Cinematherapy Centres flourish in Nigerian university.
The 2-week training, which was held from the 17th to the 28th of February 2025, included the testing of the designed curriculum, the running of practical simulations, and the production of two original cinematherapy films.
