The Acting Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, on Monday, May 27, 2024, launched the club vest of the Anti Microbial Resistance Club as part of activities of the Campus Activation Week and Grand Launching of the club.
The launching which was in the presence of the assistant patron of the club, Mr Abdulmajeed Agboola and the Executives of the club led by the President, Blessing Adeyeye, also marked the official start off of the Campus Activation Week, which will feature the Grand Launching on Wednesday, 29th May; In-Campus Awareness on Thursday, 30th May, 2024; and, Panel Discussion on KWASU RADIO 103.9FM on Friday, 31st May.
The Anti Microbial Resistance Club of KWASU would, among others, advocate to students and staff of the University, the proper use of antibiotics with emphasis on adequate diagnosis before treatment.
Antimicrobial Resistance has been declared as a global health threat by the World Health Organization (WHO), and as a student association, KWASU’s Antimicrobial Resistance Club aims to contribute to the mitigatation of the mortality and morbidity of individuals who may have fallen victim.
