KWASU Donates Classroom Chairs to G.S.S. Malete
In line with its commitment to sustainable community development, Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, on Monday, June 22, 2026, donated classroom chairs to the Senior and Junior Secondary sections of Government Secondary School (GSS), Malete.
Presenting the furniture, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, explained that the chairs, which were repurposed from disused furniture within the university were donated with the approval of the University’s Governing Council as part of efforts to support education within the host community.
Professor Jimoh reaffirmed the university’s readiness to strengthen its partnership with the school and explore other areas of collaboration for mutual benefit.
The Principal of the Senior Secondary Section, Mr. Ambali Aremu Usman expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a valuable contribution that complements the educational development initiatives of the Kwara State Government through the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.
Also speaking, the National Vice Chairman of the GSS Malete Old Students Association, Mr. Muideen Abdulqodir recalled previous interventions by KWASU and noted that the donation further underscores the strong and enduring relationship between the university and its host community.
The presentation ceremony was witnessed by principal officers of the university, staff and students of Government Secondary School, Malete, as well as members of the host community.
